The Law Office of Rex M. Pietrobono

I have been practicing law as a Sole Proprietor in New York since 1990. When I was first admitted as an attorney, my areas of practice enthusiastically covered the gamut from Admiralty Law to Contract Commercial Litigation, along with Personal Injury, Real Estate, Criminal and Traffic Ticket Defense. However, throughout the years, I began to gravitate towards that kind of work which gave me the most satisfaction, eliminated those areas I did not enjoy as much, such as commercial litigation. In the latter part of my career, I shifted my focus almost exclusively to DWI, Criminal and Traffic Ticket Defense; essentially, all things vehicular. This move proved to be both successful and personally rewarding for my law career.

Unique to my law practice, from 1996 through 2000, I served as the Mount Kisco Town Prosecutor. In that role I prosecuted traffic offenses issued from several law enforcement agencies, including Mount Kisco Police, Westchester County Police, DEP and MTA, as well as, New York State and Local Law Building Code violations. I also filled-in as prosecutor for traffic prosecutions in nearby Pleasantville. In that role I had the privilege of working closely with all those extraordinary law enforcement officers in the investigations, formation, and ensuing prosecution of thousands of cases. The professional lessons I learned as Prosecutor were invaluable to adding an immense depth and breadth of practical knowledge and courtroom perspective to my criminal and traffic ticket defense practice.

At the conclusion of my time prosecuting such cases I wanted to concentrate on vehicular matters in general, thus, at that juncture I decided to reduce all other areas of practice and focus my energies solely on New York State DWI, Criminal and Traffic Ticket Defense. I sincerely enjoy helping good people get through these difficult situations and that gratification reflects in the case results. It’s been said best to let another person praise thee and not from thine own mouth – so I suggest you pop “Rex Pietrobono attorney” into Google search and see what other nice people have said about me.

Who Is This Book Intended For?

The information in this book will benefit any motorist who receives some sort of citation, is unfamiliar with the legal process, and does not know what they are supposed to do next procedurally or even substantively, for that matter. It is also a refresher for those who have a degree of familiarity with the process but could use legal guidance from a seasoned lawyer with renowned expertise in DWI and Traffic Ticket Defense. As an attorney whose practice focuses almost exclusively on this particular realm of defense work, it is strongly advised to consult with an attorney fully familiar with the criminal defense process as opposed to transient counsel dabbling in these very specific and consequential areas of law. The aftermath of hiring an inexperienced attorney unknowledgeable in those circumstances can be devastating.

The bottom line is it’s best to hire the professionals to do what they do best. My character, background, temperament, and experience led me to choose these areas of law. This is the focus of my practice. Virtually all my continuing legal education has been in these areas of practice to keep up with the ever-changing laws. Massive changes, both subtle and dramatic, were made to the Criminal Procedure Laws as of January 1, 2020. A firm grip of the procedure laws is required to optimize the chances for a successful result for each Defendant or Principal of the Case.
