GENERAL COURT INFORMATION
The Orange County Court has authority to hear criminal matters involving felony (offenses punishable by more than one year in prison) criminal charges arising in the County of Orange. Such cases are on the Court’s morning calendars Monday through Friday as directed by the Court. The Orange County Court has trial jurisdiction over all cases if the jail term that can be imposed exceeds one year. The office of the Orange County District Attorney prosecutes all such criminal cases. The Orange County Court does not hear traffic ticket cases.
